FAQs

  • We offer swim lessons starting at 4 months old through our Parent & Tot sessions, where little ones are introduced to the water in a fun and supportive environment.

At age 1, we begin transitioning swimmers into private lessons with an instructor, without a parent in the water. This transition is done at a pace that best suits the swimmer, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience. Our team works closely with families to determine the right timing for each child’s individual needs.

  • While we do not offer a specific Infant Survival Rescue program, our Parent & Tot Swim Program is designed to introduce young swimmers to the water while building a strong foundation for self-rescue skills. This program focuses on essential techniques such as submersion, floating, rolling onto the back, and linking these skills in sequence.

Parents will also receive tips and techniques to practice at home, along with discussions on infant water safety, first aid, and CPR. Our goal is to help little ones become more comfortable in the water while equipping parents with the knowledge to support their child’s development.

  • On the first day of lessons, each swimmer will be assessed to determine the appropriate level placement based on their skill and comfort in the water. If your child has previously taken lessons, you can provide their last level achieved to help with placement.

  • You can register up to four children per registration form. If you have more than four children, you’ll need to fill out an additional form for the remaining children. Additionally, there is an option on the form to book siblings (who are within one level of each other) into semi-private lessons, which can be a great option for families looking to streamline their scheduling.

  • The majority of our lessons are private sessions, but if you’re interested in a semi-private lesson, we ask that you arrange a friend or family member to join your swimmer.

For semi-private lessons, it’s important that:

    • Swimmers ages 3 and under are paired with a child of the same age.

    • Swimmers ages 4 and up are matched based on similar swimming ability to ensure the best learning experience.

Matching swimmers appropriately helps maximize progress, confidence, and enjoyment in the water.

  • Our goal is for each swimmer to successfully complete their level by the end of their session. However, safety is our top priority, and we focus on the individual needs of each swimmer rather than rushing progression.

A swimmer will only advance to the next level once they have fully mastered all required skills. We ensure continued growth by developing each skill at the swimmer’s demonstrated ability, rather than strictly following the level they are enrolled in. For example, if a swimmer in Dolphin 2 excels in one skill but struggles with another, their strong skills will continue progressing without being held back.

This personalized approach allows swimmers to build confidence, improve at their own pace, and develop a well-rounded foundation in water safety and technique.

  • We believe that consistency between the swimmer and instructor is essential for building a strong connection, trust, and steady progress in swim lessons. Each swimmer will work with the same instructor throughout their session to ensure a familiar and supportive learning environment.

In the case of unforeseen circumstances where an instructor is unavailable, a qualified substitute instructor will step in to continue the lesson smoothly.

  • We do not offer make-up lessons for missed classes due to illness, scheduling conflicts, or personal reasons. Our scheduling is carefully planned, and we are unable to accommodate make-up requests for all swimmers who miss a lesson.

Make-up lessons are only available on Fridays and are strictly reserved for lessons canceled due to inclement weather or an instructor’s absence when a substitute is unavailable.

To ensure consistent progress and the best learning experience, we highly recommend selecting a session where you can attend all 8 lessons.

  • Swim lessons will proceed rain or shine. In the case of forecasted thunderstorms, we will do our best to contact you promptly if your lesson needs to be rescheduled.

If you do not receive communication from one of our team members, please attend your scheduled lesson as planned.

  • Our goal is to have all siblings swimming at the same time with their designated instructor. By having two instructors in the water, we can accommodate two private lessons simultaneously.

If scheduling does not allow for this arrangement, we will reach out to discuss alternative options to ensure the best experience for your swimmers.

  • To participate in swimming lessons, swimmers must wear appropriate swim attire, including a bathing suit and a towel. Infants who need diapers must wear swim diapers during sessions.

  • Our swim sessions are preset and can be found on our website or social media platforms. It’s important to select a session where you can attend all 8 lessons to ensure consistent progress.

Daytime sessions run Monday to Thursday for two weeks, while evening sessions operate on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday for 4 weeks.

  • Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of your children’s lessons to ensure a timely start.

  • There is adequate parking on the street. Please ensure you do not park in front of the fire hydrant located to the left of our premise or block any neighboring driveways.

  • Please ensure your child(ren) goes to the washroom before coming to the lesson. We have a bathroom located indoors from the backyard if needed.

  • If possible, we ask that your child(ren) arrive dressed in their bathing suits. The washroom indoors may be used for changing after the lesson.
